The Relationship Between Pregnant Women' Emotional Intelligence and Fear of Childbirth, Readiness For Childbirth and Ways of Coping with Stress

Aim: This study was carried out to determine the relationship between pregnant women's emotional intelligence (EI) , Fear of Labor (FOC), Readiness for (RFC), and ways overcoming stress. Material Method: The research is descriptive-correlational. with 665 women who were in third trimester admitted obstetrics gynecology clinics Nothern Turkey. data collected using Personal Information Form, Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale (EIAS), Prenatal Self-Evaluation Questionnaire (PSEQ) Ways Coping Checklist (WCCL). Percentage, mean ± standard deviation median, Kolmogorov Smirnov test, Pearson Correlation Multiple Regression analysis used analyze data. Results: In study, score average 126.30±28, RFC 29.25±4.77 FOC 27.46±4.58. Self-Confident Approach, Optimistic Approach Finding Social Support dimensions Stress Styles Pregnant Women found be above score, Desperate Submissive scores below score. It determined that there a weakly significant positive correlation total EI RFC, coping stress (p <0.001, r = 0.283), 0.355), < 0.001, 0.317).
